After striking out the batter he faced in the bottom on the ninth in Game 5 of the World Series Giants’ reliever Brian Wilson was the first to celebrate the team’s first World Series title in 56 years and the first that the franchise had won since moving West in the middle of the 20th century.

And even though the unsung heroes of the Giant’s lineup like the diminutive Cody Ross, the unwanted Aubry Huff and the World Series MVP Edgar Renteria stepped huge in the World Series for an explosion of unexpected runs, in the end it was the Giants famed pitching that got them through to the end.

For many Giant’s it seemed like just reaching the post season might be an impossible task for team that was at one point in the season 40-41 and trailed the San Diego Padres in the NL West for nearly the entire season. Add to that the fact that Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum had his worst statistical season as major league starter (16-10, 3.43 ERA) and #2 starter Matt Cain also had an off year (13-11, 3.45 ERA).

But after clinching the NL West on the final day of the season, this team made the most of its post season berth by bashing opponents’ pitching and shutting down batters all the way to the World Series betting action.

No one in July would have bet on the MLB World Series title landing in San Fran but once the Giants got into the playoffs the starting pitching and closer Brian Wilson made sure that this team didn’t go home empty handed.

Lincecum started off the postseason with one of the best playoff pitching performances in history in a 2-hit complete game shutout in which he struck out 14 batters. In the end he was the best pitcher in the playoffs this year with a 4-1 record and a 2.43 ERA with 43 Ks in 37 innings.

Cain was right there with him, perhaps even more impressive in his three playoff starts as he pitched 21.1 innings without giving up a single run (0.00 ERA) and a 2-0 record. And rookie Madison Bumgartner pitched the game of his life in Game 4 of the World Series shutting out the Rangers in a 4-0 win. Wilson was also spectacular as well as he racked 6 saves and 1 win on the Giants dash to the World Series title.

This World Series Game 5 with the Giants of San Francisco (3-1) and the Rangers of Texas (1-3) looks to be a pitching duel between the Giants two time Cy Young Award winner Tim Linceum and the Rangers soon to be free Agent Cliff Lee and this game gets underway from Arlington, Texas a 8 PM EDT and can be seen on FOX TV. Check out the MLB Betting lines on this World Series Game 5 at SBGGlobal.com.

Tonight the Giants fans whom have been waiting 53 years to celebrate a World Series Championship will possibly celebrate tonight with a win or the party will be prolonged and head back to San Francisco to see if they get a party or not. Pitching tonight for the Rangers will be their Ace Cliff Lee who had a bad experience in Game 1 as he was around the strike zone but on the outer side if the plate and still the Giants went 4 for 7 or batted .571 in the early going. For all his previous success in postseason this is his first time to pitch in a playoff in Texas.

Where his normal count was like .231 in early going, so that surely indicates some control differences. It will be interesting to see if in this game 5 if he attempts to use the inner side of the plate as in most of his outings 35 percent of his speed or heat is on the batters hands side. He also had problems in game 1 of getting his curve ball in the strike zone as only 3 of his 11 curve balls thrown were for strikes.

He also will have to have more success in pitching to Freddy Sanchez and Aubrey Huff in Game 5. Check out the World Series Odds at SBGGlobal.com and Join the Action and take advantage of their up to 60% Bonus on new deposits and reloads.

While going to the mound in Game 5 for the Giants, Tim Lincecum as most are aware did not exactly overpower the Ranges in Game 1. He gave up 8 strong hits and also in his 5 innings walked three Ranger batters. He was throwing a lot of change ups and sliders with about 45% speedballs. Strange enough the Rangers 7th and 8th batters, Moreland and Molina each managed two hits off Lincecum. This will be Lincecums second opportunity to win a postseason series. He is 2-1 in postseason and the Rangers jumped him in game one but he was able to regain control before he was replaced.

Check out the MLB Odds and Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com.

This World Series Game 5 should be very interesting and we expect to see a pitchers dual unless the Ranger batters can come out of their slump and show some offense, especially Hamilton and Guerrero who in Sundays game had seven combined at bats that were without hits. Then in this World Series Vladimir Guerrero is 1 out of ten and their slugger Josh Hamilton is only 2 for 16 at bats. Enjoy the Action from SBGGlobal.com.

When you look over the matchup between the two teams in this year’s World Series baseball odds competition on paper, the first thing you notice is how different these two teams are. In fact, you could hardly pick two more contrasting –yet equally successful- styles play.

In order to be one of the last teams standing in the MLB playoffs both teams have had to knock off some tough teams.

The Rangers (90-72) had to beat arguably the two best teams in baseball this post season (Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees). The Giants (92-70) faced an easier team in the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS but getting past the Phillies in the NLCS was one of the hardest feats in the betting MLB playoffs action.

So head to head how do these two teams stack up?

Pitching wise, both teams are led by a very strong starting rotation but during the regular season the trio of Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain and Jonathan Sanchez was better and still might have the edge over their Texas counterparts. But the Rangers starting pitchers have been playing out of their minds so far this post season and with Cliff Lee yet to lose to lose a game (3-0) and sporting an ERA of .75, joined by Colby Lewis and CJ Wilson the pitching might be a wash.

At first glance this Series matchup reads like a pitcher’s duel, and it very well could be, but the Giants pitchers, facing Texas lethal lineup will have to fight a much tougher opponent than the Rangers pitchers who will face the Giants weak-hitting lineup.

The Rangers offense enters the World Series on a hot streak after torching Yankees pitching for 33 runs in 5 games.

During that series the Rangers had six batters that hit over .300 with ALCS MVP hitting .375 to lead the Rangers. The team hit well at nearly every position and left an average of just 2 runners stranded per game. And this wasn’t against a bunch of circus clowns either but rather a Cy Young winner, the winningest pitcher in playoff history and a 17-game winner in 2010.

As good as the Giants starting rotation is, the Rangers batters are simply too good to ignore. A bet on the MLB playoffs action in this matchup is going to require some thought and will probably go on the Rangers.

Tonight the Padres who lately have been more or less experiencing a nightmare as the season that was to be a pushover has lately been very difficult as they finally ended a ten game losing streak this past Monday. Tonight the finish a three game series with the Dodgers and they would like to sweep this series by winning tonight.

This game tonight gets underway at 10:05 PM EDT. Check out the MLB Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com. Interesting that tonight the starting hurler for the Dodgers of Los Angeles will be Chad Billingsley who is 11-8 with an ERA of 3.54 and for the Padres of San Diego it will be Cory Leubke who is 0-1 with an ERA of 7.20. Billingsley has managed more career wins against the Padres than any other team. This is the Second start in the MLB for Leubke as his first start was against the Rockies and he did not fare well. See the MLB Odds on the NL game tonight.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers their offense has been on vacation or not producing much since the All-Star break and is one of the reasons they have been so lousy as of late. In the last 51 games they have had 687 at bats with 150 hits and 146 strikeouts. Pretty dismal and a big reason they are 20-31 since the break. But tonight it seems that the Dodgers have the upper hand with Billingsley hurling as he has been very good on the mound as of late. Join the Action at SBGGlobal.com and the great bonus and promotion program in effect.

On the Padres side they are not comfortable with their present standings after having such a strong lead for most of this 2010 season as now they are struggling to stay in first place and/or make the playoffs. Although during their losing streak the pitching was decent but at present are required to use pitchers that do not have the best records as tonight they hope the rookie will confuse the Dodgers as he is unfamiliar to most teams.

Looks as the sbg sportsbook Odds makers have the Dodgers favored at -1 ½ (+155) with Billingsley pitching and the Padres the Dogs at + 1 ½ (-175) with the OV 6 ½ (-125) and the UN 9 ½ (+105) and the Dodgers are -106 and the Padres are -104 on the Money Line. MLB Odds and MLB Betting lines are subject to change instantly!

The Sox won the 1st game 12-5 on Monday and the Rays won 14-5 the 2nd game on Tuesday as the Rays had 5 HR’s.

This game starts at 7:10 PM EDT from Fenway Park in Boston and is on ESPN TV. See the MLB Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com. This game tonight you will see Matt Garza going to the mound for the Rays and he is 14-7 with an ERA of 3.46 while Tim Wakefield will be the starting pitcher for the Red Sox who is 3-10 with an ERA of 5.19. Garza is on a win streak as he has won his last three outings and he is 2-1 against Boston this 2010 season.

Wakefield is a knuckleball specialist and will start tonight his 1st time since the 25th of August this season. Check out the MLB Odds on this very important AL East Match-up tonight. In this series the Red Sox need to finish with a win tonight as they are very near the end of their possibilities in this race with their only hope being a wild card chance only if they can continue winning. The loss last night put them back 7.5 games in the Wild Card race and 9 games back in the AL East.

On the Tampa Bay side the Rays are still chasing the Yankees and hope to win the AL East title and at the moment for the least they appear to have a wild card slot cinched. This is the last game between the Sox and the Rays this 2010 season. After tonight the Rays take on Toronto for a three game series in Toronto and then on Monday they are back in Tampa taking on the Yankees for a three game series thru Wednesday.

Join the Action for MLB Odds as the season winds down at SBGGlobal.com and take advantage of the excellent bonus and promotion programs now available. The Odds makers at sbgglobal have the Rays favored tonight at -1 ½ (+110) and the Red Sox as the underdogs at +1 ½ (-130) with the OV 9 (-125) and the UN 9 (+105) with the Rays -137 and the Red Sox +127 on the Money Line.

Late tonight from San Diego the Dodgers of Los Angeles who are 4th in NL West take on the Padres of San Diego who are 1st in NL West leading the Giants of San Francisco by one game. The game starts at 10:05 PM EDT. The Dodgers will start pitcher Clayton Kershaw tonight who is 11-9 with an ERA of 3.01 who hopes to stop three consecutive starts without a win.

While the Padres will send Mat Latos to the mound who is 13-5 with an ERA of 2.25 and that ERA is leading the NL at present, but unfortunately he is 0-2 in all his game starts against the Dodgers. Check out the MLB Betting lines on this NL West game tonight.

In has been no more than two week since the Padres were in a strong lead in the NL West but with only one win (that being last night 4-2 over Dodgers) and now they are only one game in the lead and need to make some distance in their position. The Padres are hoping the win last night may be the one that changes their direction as the final weeks on 2010 season are upon MLB. See the MLB Odds at SBGGlobal.com on this NL match-up.

On the other side the Dodgers have been having their problems also as they have managed to lose seven of their last nine games that included three consecutive losses and they seem to be fading in the NL west playoff challenge! The good sign for the Dodgers is that in the last 13 games with the Padres they have managed to win seven this 2010 season while they have the slight advantage of winning 4 of the last 7 games in San Diego. Join the Action at SBGGlobal.com as they are presently offering up to 60% bonus and all new and reload deposits. Also they have a fantastic mobile wagering platform that is fast, easy and efficient!

Checking at the Odds makers we see that sbg sportsbook has the Padres favored at -1 ½ (+170) and the underdog Dodgers at +1 ½ with the OV/UN 5 ½ (-110) and for the Money Line the Padres are -133 while the Dodgers are +123. Remember the MLB Odds always are subject to immediate change.

Tonight’s match-up between the Cincinnati Reds who are 1st in the NL Central matching up with the Colorado Rockies who are 3rd in the NL West and this game is the second of a four game series and tonight’s game gets underway at 8:40 PM EDT from Denver. See the MLB Betting lines on this NL match-up tonight.

Taking to the mound tonight for the Reds you will see Johnny Cueto who is 12-4 with an ERA of 3.41 with 114 Ks and 48 Walks while taking the rubber for the Rockies we will see Jhoulys Chacon who is 7-9 with an ERA of 3.69 with 112 Ks and 50 Walks. Both of these pitchers as you see have very similar stats. This is Cueto’s second start against Rockies and the same is true for Chacon. Check out the MLB Odd at sbgglobal.

The Rockies thus far have won 8 consecutive games while at home against the Reds and 5 straight overall with the Reds, as they also took the first game of this four game series last night with a 10-5 victory. The Rockies are trying to stay within distance of NL West wild card race. As in the past few years the Rockies have been awful strong in September especially against the Reds and they hope the same remains true this September. The Rockies in the last 19 games against the Reds are a strong 16-3 after yesterdays win! Check out the MLB Odds on this game.

For the Reds they are on the last leg of their seven day road games and they have manage to lose three of the last four game on this trip but still have managed to stay 6 games ahead of the 2nd place Cardinals who defeated beat the Brewers on Monday. Unbelievable is the fact the Reds have not won a game in Coors Stadium since back in August of 2008.

Its without a doubt that we can imagine who is favored and while checking what the Odds makers at SBGGlobal have posted and we find our suspicion true as the Rockies are favored at -1 ½ (+150) with the Reds being the dogs at + 1 ½ (-180) and the OV 9 (-105) with the UN 9 (-115) and for the Money Line the Rockies are -125 and the Reds are +115. Naturally these MLB Betting lines are subject to change often and more so when the wagering is heavy.

The Tampa Bay Rays who are 2nd in AL East and trailing the Yankees by 2.5 games take on the Boston Red Sox who are 3rd in the AL East and trail the Yankees by 9 and the Rays by 6.5 and this is the Second game of the three game series which Boston won on Monday night 12-5 over Tampa Bay. The Game tonight starts at 7:10 PM EDT. Check out the MLB Betting lines at SBGGlobal on this Tuesday night game from Fenway Park!

The pitchers for this AL East match-up will be David Price for the Rays taking the mound who is 16-6 with an ERA of 2.92 and for going to the mound for the Sox it will be Daisuke Matsuzaka who is 9-4 with an ERA of 4.29. The Rays hope they get in the win column with Price tonight. Matsuzaka id 2-5 while pitching against the Rays in 11 games. See the MLB Odds as the lines are moving!

Tonight the Rays will do their best to avoid another loss which would make it four in a row as they hope to continue their chase for the 1st place in the AL East. While the Red Sox have managed to keep their playoff hopes alive by the latest win, but they must stay in the win column or they will be out of the post season playoffs.

This series is the last of a nine day road trip and then next week on Monday they start a three game home series against none other than their arch rivals the New York Yankees at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. At the moment they would like to avoid slide of four games which would be the first since they had a terrible five game skid back in the first week of August of this season. And as fate may have it, this season they have won 5 of the seven games that they played against the Red Sox in Boston so maybe that’s a positive for them.

Sure they hope so! If you want to get in on the MLB Action sign up with sbg global sportsbook as they have up to 295% in Total Bonuses for new and existing clients! Looking at the MLB Odds on this AL East game tonight we find that at the moment the SBGGlobal Odds Makers have the Rays favorite at -1 ½ (+145) and the Red Sox the underdogs at +1 ½ (-165) with the OV 8 ½ (-115) and the UN 8 ½ (-105) and on the Money Line the Rays are -110 while the Red Sox are EV. These lines are always subject to change at a moment’s notice.

The Atlanta Braves will try and continue their success at Turner Field as they host the New York Mets on Tuesday in a game that can be seen on the MLB Network. The Braves have the best home record in the league and they are favored to win on Tuesday against the Mets.

SBG Global Sportsbook current line: Braves – 149. Total 7.5 Flat

The Mets are not a very good road team but they do have a decent starting pitcher going on Tuesday. Jon Niese gets the start for New York. He is 8-6 on the season with a 3.63 ERA. Niese is 1-1 in his last three starts with a 4.58 ERA. He has pitched very well in his career against the Braves going 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA.

Mike Minor gets the call for Atlanta. He is 2-0 with a 4.00 ERA this baseball betting season. The rookie set a Braves record with 12 strikeouts in six innings last time out against the Cubs. He has not pitched since the 22nd so he will be working with extra rest on Tuesday.

The Mets continue to struggle to score runs as they are near the bottom of the league. They still continue to pitch well though as they are in the top 10 in ERA. The Braves have the edge on the Mets as they not only have a top 10 ERA but also a lineup that is in the top 10 in runs scored.

New York has really had problems against left-handers on the road. They are 9-22 in their last 31 road games vs. a left-handed starter. They are 3-7 in

Niese’s last 10 starts. The Mets are 2-5 in the last 7 baseball betting meetings against the Braves.

Atlanta is the opposite of the Mets as they have had success against left-handers at home. They are 13-6 in their last 19 home games vs. a left-handed starter.

Since we know that the Mets struggle against left-handers it makes sense that they would struggle to score runs. The Under is 8-1-2 in Mets last 11 road games vs. a left-handed starter. The Under is 6-1 in the Mets last 7 road games. The Under is 5-1 in Niese’s last 6 road starts. The Under is 12-1 in the last 13 meetings between the Mets and Braves.

With the Yankees and Rays tied today for AL East the games tonight for each team should prove to be very interesting. For the Yankees (80-50) they are playing the Athletics (65-64) for a three game series in the Bronx, New York at 7:05 PM EDT. See the MLB Odds at sbg global.com

To the mound for the A’s it will be Trevor Cahill who is 14-5 with an ERA of 2.43 and Dustin Mosley will start for the Yankees who is 4-2 with an ERA of 4.53. Mosley has won 3 of last 4 games. Cahill is one of the top pitchers in MLB baseball at this time. Check out the MLB Betting lines on this game.

Both teams need this game and in reality the series as the Yankees are trying to get ahead of the Rays in the AL East and the A’s it is still possible for them to catch Texas in the AL West. This series for the Yankees starts their longest stretch of home games for the 2010 season. Oakland id 13-3 in the last 16 games during the day and they are struggling with night games.

Odds makers at SBG Global have the Yankees favored at – 1 ½ (+165) and the A’s as the Dogs at +1 ½ (-185) with the OV 9 (-120) and the UN 9 (EV) and the Money Line has the Yankees at -124 with the A’s at +114. All MLB Odds are subject to change. The other game for tonight that is part of the AL East Saga is the Blue Jays (68-62) playing the Rays (80-50) for a 3 game series and this game is at Tropicana Field in Tampa and game time is 7:10 PM EDT. See the MLB Betting lines on this AL game tonight.

Taking the mound for the Blue Jays tonight will be Brett Cecil who is 11-6 with a 3.80 ERA and for the Rays it will be Wade Davis who is 10-9 with an ERA of 4.41. Davis is shooting to extend his win streak to six. Cecil is looking to win his 4th game in his last 5 games pitched. Check the MLB Odds at SBGGlobal.com

The Rays are looking to win this series and stay atop of the AL East after spending the last week in that position and also to gain sole possession for 1st place in the East Division. At present the Jays are in 4th place and 12 games out of first and having a decent season, but when you play in a division like this AL East decent is not good enough. See the MLB Betting lines in this AL East game.

As you might imagine the Odds makers at SBGGlobal have the Rays favored at -1 ½ (+145) and the Jays at + 1 ½ (-165) with the OV 9 (EV) and the UN 9 (-120) and the Money Line has the Rays at -140 and the Jays at +130.
