First we take a look at the Red Sox of Boston and the YAankees or “Bronx Bombers” with this matchup actually taking place in the Bronx and the Yankees have controlled this series over the last two MLB seasons with a record of 14-6 and this year they are 5-3 when playing the Red Sox.
Keep in mind however that the Red Sox were able to beat the Yankees 2 of their last 3 this 2010 season heading into this game this weekend. The problem for Boston lately is that they have had more than their share of injuries to key players signifying that have a lot of talent disabled. One being disabled is first baseman Youkilis but will have the recovered OF Ellsbury for this coming weekend as he is one of their big hitters.
The “Bronx Bombers” are getting things back to normality after Rodriguez smacked his 600 the HR of his Career. He is the youngest while being only the 7th to reach that plateau and certainly had a tough time lately trying to reach that goal. During last week his average was only 0.83 but in 8 games with the Sox he is .333 and has 8 RBI’s and 2 Hr’s.

And now let take a view of the Reds of Cincy and the CUBS of Chicago who are at opposites when it comes to team records in the National League Central but there has always been a strong rivalry between these Central teams.
The Reds are a comfortable 61-48 for the season (33-23 at Home and 28-25 on the Road), while the Cubs are 47-61 (27-29 at Home and 20-32 on the Road). The Cubs have shamed their fans losing more at home than the wins.
So far in August the Reds have won 3 of 4 games going into this series with Chicago. While they won 2 of three in their road games with the Pirates prior to this series in the Windy City and were able to improve their road record to above .500 at 28 and 25 and amazingly have won 7 of their last 10 games this year with Cincy.
On the other side the Cubs were able to stop a seven game slip when they defeated the Brewers of Milwaukee 15 to 3 last Wednesday. The Reds have started August off on the right foot, winning three of four games heading into Friday’s Game 1 with the Cubbies. Watch for changes in the MLB Odds on this game for the weekend.
