Best of all as there’s pressure on the officiating squad to extend the series to another game sports betting fans might actually see some fair and accurate call-making by the refs as well. And that would be tremendously positive development for this year’s NBA Finals betting action.

LA will still have a bit of an advantage playing at home as the crowd will be supportive and it’s impossible to totally eliminate the ‘home cookin’ in the NBA betting. If Boston is going to win Game 7 on the road it’s going to have to be another complete offensive game by its key players. There aren’t enough shots for all of the team’s ‘Big Four’ to light up the score board, but if three of these guys (KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo), and that group must include Rondo, can have big scoring games they will beat the Lakers.

On the other hand, if the Lakers defense is aggressive and shuts down the Celtics’ weapons once again it will be another blowout. The Lakers have been schizophrenic this series looking unbeatable one game and garbage the next.

Hopefully with some good officiating both teams are able to play to their potential and we’ll see once and for all (or at least in one game) which team really is the best in the NBA betting action.

Without risk of hyperbole, this is the biggest game in NBA betting action in decades. Perhaps not since the days of Magic and Bird has a game of this magnitude featuring such storied franchise and NBA betting stars been played out.

The answer: the LA Lakers.

That may not be what the fans in Bean town want to hear but it’s the truth. The loss of Kendrick Perkins will be huge for the Celtics. After missing most of Game 6 the Lakers went on to dominate the Celtics in the paint. The team that has won the battle of boards has won every single game in this year’s NBA Final’s betting action. Game 7 will likely follow this trend.

The Lakers also seem to have found their stride –at least for one game- and played to maximum efficiency with Kobe Bryant taking shots only when needed and getting his wingman and immensely talented teammate, Pau Gasol, involved in the offense. Ron Artest also chipped in some perimeter shooting and the defense was outstanding.

The Celtics shot just 33% from the field and missed a combined 8 dunks or layups in the second half of Game 6 and were not surprisingly blown out in that basketball betting contest. This team will not play that poorly again and from what we’ve seen so far in the NBA Finals betting action, the Celts have a much bigger heart than the Lakers.

Still, you can’t help think the NBA suits like the idea of Kobe winning a 5th NBA betting title and the accompanying story-lines about the Jordan comparison’s that will follow. Any team is capable of winning Game 7 and the Celtics could roll to a blowout victory. But anyone that’s seen a few of these NBA betting matchup knows that what the NBA suits want, they generally get.

But Lakers blew the visiting Celtics out the water in Game 6 back at the Staples Center and earned a chance to play in one last game for the NBA betting title.

Kobe Bryant was terrific once again finishing with 26 points, 11 boards and 4 steals. It was one of his best games of the playoffs even if the stat line didn’t necessarily indicate as much. His point total was down but his shot selection was terrific (9-19 shooting) and he never forced anything, taking only was given to him by the defense and distributing the ball well. The major difference between Game 6 and Games 3 and 4 of this NBA betting series was the fact that Bryant’s teammates were hitting shots when he got them the ball.

Pao Gasol also finally got a good number of touches with his back to the basket and was nearly unstoppable. His stat line of 17 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists might have been the most impressive single performance in this year’s NBA Finals betting action.

The Lakers were also tremendous on defense, an area where Bryant excelled and set the tone for the entire NBA betting matchup by getting his hands in the passing lanes deflecting just about any ball within a mile radius.

The Celtics, for their part did themselves no favors and deserved to lose this basketball betting matchup. Granted the officiating didn’t help and it was obvious from the first whistle that the Lakers were going to get every advantageous call -and no-call- possible, but this team still had a chance in the second half of this NBA betting contest. However, the Celtics missed 4 dunks and 4 layups during a crucial stretch in the second half that would have cut the Lakers lead to single digits.

But they didn’t, and the Lakers won and now online wagering fans get to bet on a Game 7.

The Lakers played with far more intensity on Tuesday night and Boston was steamrolled.  Both teams have a number of highly talented players so in this series it has been the team that wants it more that has won each game.  The Lakers have the home court edge for Game 7 and that might be the difference on Thursday night.  Los Angeles head coach Phil Jackson has won 10 NBA titles but he has never coached a Game 7 of the NBA Finals odds. It will be the first time since 2005 that the NBA Finals have gone to a seventh game and just the second time in the last 16 years. Los Angeles is trying to win back-to-back titles for the first time since 2001-2002 while Boston is trying to win their second title in three years.

The team that has won the rebounding battle has won every game in this series. Kobe Bryant continues to play exceptional for Los Angeles but the Lakers win when they rebound and control the paint. On Tuesday the Lakers controlled the middle and their bench completely outplayed the Boston bench.  Kobe had another strong game as he had 26 points and 11 rebounds and he got a lot of help.  The Celtics did very little from the start as they seemed to be counting on a Game 7.

Even though Boston lost as an underdog on Tuesday, they are still 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 playoff games as an underdog. The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite.

The last four games in this series have all gone under the total but the Lakers are still a team that can go over the total as six of their last nine home games have gone over.  In this series at Los Angeles, the Under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings.

The staved off the Miami Heat –a terrible team- in the first round of the NBA playoff betting action it seemed as if that would be it for the Celtics. There was no way they could knock off the NBA odds favorite Cleveland Cavaliers and King James. But LeBron’s teammates supposedly got romantic with his mother and the team crumbled as the Celts steamrolled the once mighty Cavs (61-21) in fix games.

Than came the Orlando Magic a team that not only looked invincible coming into the Eastern Conference Finals but, in fact, to that point in the playoff betting action was. The Magic had swept both its first and second round opponents in the NBA playoff betting action and had yet to lose a game in the 2010 NBA playoff betting action after rattling off 8 straight wins.

The Celtics humiliated the Magic and the rest is history.

If the Lakers are going to win they have to score more points in Game 6. The Lakers have been held to less than 100 points four times in this series and have won only one of those games. That should be no problem for the Lakers right? They have the best score in basketball betting in Kobe Bryant, he’s been torching the Celts defense all series long averaging over 30 points per game.

But that’s the problem. When the Lakers offense becomes dependent on Bryant it become stagnant, predictable and is at its weakest. Against a quality team like the Celtics, Bryant will have to score 50+ if the Lakers are going to win in a Kobe-centered offensive game plan.

The Lakers much get their big men involved if they are going to win Game 6 of this NBA Finals betting action and push a Game 7.

Pao Gasol and Andrew Bynum (18 points combined) were non-existent in Game 5 and that’s why the Celts won. If the Lakers don’t get the ball in these big men’s hands more in Game 6, it will be last game of this NBA betting series.

But what might be the craziest detail of this surprising Celtics run at the NBA betting title is the fact that they’ve dominated the Lakers big men for most of this series. With the exception of Game 1 in which Pao Gasol put on a clinic against the Celtics big men, the Celts have ruled the paint.

This is surprising for a number of reasons but as any basketball betting fan will tell you, on paper, the Celtics post players are nothing special while the Lakers are clearly the best in basketball betting. Pao Gasol was the best center in the league this NBA betting season and when healthy young Andrew Bynum is one of best low post scorers in basketball betting. Yet five games into this series the Lakers big men have been silenced for the most part. Simply take a look back at the Game 5 stat line. Gasol had 12 points and 12 rebounds on a 5-12 shooting night. And sadly that was the best line of any Lakers big man in a while. Bynum had just 6 points and 1 measly rebound to go with Odom’s 8 points and 8 boards.

The Celtics big men haven’t exactly stole the show either but for their disadvantage in talent they’ve more than played up to the challenge this NBA betting series. Kevin Garnett finally had a big game grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring 18 points. Kendrick Perkins continues to be a no-show and Big Baby Davis, the low post star of Game 4 finished with 0 points. But whatever the Celtics big men contribute on offense is simply gravy so long as they shut down the Lakers in the paint.

And if they do it again in Game 5 of this NBA betting series, Boson will be the new NBA Finals betting champs.
