The Magic titled the “other” team in Florida had a perfect preseason at 7-0 and averaged 102.7 points a game and allowing the opponents just 77.7 points a game, whereas the Heat finished the preseason at 3-4 and averaged just 97.7 points a game and allowed opponents to 92.9 points a game. In playing the three common teams, the Hawks beat the Heat 98-89 even that James had 38 and Bosh had a double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. But the Magic stunned the Hawks 102-73 and Howard had a similar double for the Magic in 14 points and 13 rebounds. Then the Heat lost to the Bobcats 102-96 and James had 33 points in the loss. For the Magic they beat the Hawks this preseason 86-72 without many of the starters.
Next the Heat lost to the Hornets 90 -76 but they were short of James and Wade with injuries. Then the Magic with 23 points from Redick and Lewis smashed the Hornets 135-81.
