When most college football betting fans think of the football in the state of Texas, they think of traditional powerhouse squads like the University of Texas Longhorns, the A&M Aggies and even in recent years the Texas Tech Red Raiders thanks to the successes for former coach Mike Leach.

But no one thinks of schools like Texas Christian University or Southern Methodist University when the topic Texas football comes up. Aside from their names, there’s really not been anything that has set these schools apart in the college football ranks and neither has achieved much of anything.

However, the fact of the matter is TCU is the #4 ranked team in the NCAA football betting action, and the highest ranked team in the Republic of Texas. Not the ‘Horns, not the Aggies…the Horned Frogs!

On Friday these two teams will still the Friday Night Lights coverage from the talented high school teams playing across the state. SMU, enjoying a resurgence of its own under second-year coach June Jones, had been led by a high flying spread offense which has been turning some heads.

Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 8:05 Eastern Time and sbg global opened with the Horned Frogs as a 18-point favorite with an over/under total at 55.5.

There is little reason to believe that TCU won’t win this game and win it by a lot of points. The Horned frogs enter game 3-0 and the Mustangs an impressive 2-1. Both teams have played relatively well against some decent competition but TCU is simply the better team.

The Horned Frog defense is stifling as it’s given up just 5 TDs in 3 games and is allowing just 88.0 yards on the ground per game and just 134.7 yards in the air. The Mustangs need a big passing game out of QB Kyle Jones and they’re not likely to get it as the team ranks just 73rd nationally against the pass and against this TCU defense they’re not likely to do much.

TCU will come out on top in this sports betting matchup.

The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs have one of the most distinctive mascots in college football betting, a mascot so singular that for many years it outshined the school’s football team. But not this year as the #4 TCU Horned frogs enter Week 4 of the grid iron action as the fourth-ranked team in the country and playing for a potential national title.

On Friday night the team will play against an out-classed SMU team in a matchup that could turn into a blow out early as the Horned Frogs are simply a better team and the team must beat the daylights out of opponents week in and week out to maintain its lofty rankings in non-automatic BCS bid conference.

Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 8:05 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Horned Frogs as a 17.-point favorite with an over/under total at 55 1/2.

That may seem like a massive point spread for a NCAA college football betting matchup a month into the season but it’s nothing compared to Ohio State’s 42.5 point line against Eastern Michigan. But that digression aside, football fans should expect an old fashioned beat down in this one.

SMU has seen something of resurgence in its football program with addition of new coach June Jones form the Islands. He brought his high flying spread offense to the main land but so far this season it hasn’t been working. SMU is just 73rd in the country in passing with 224.0 yards per game. But the team is 2-1 and looking to add another win this week before it begins its Conference USA schedule.

Unfortunately for Mustangs fans it ain’t gonna happen.

TCU will be looking to score as many points as humanly possible and in the process SMU will be severely embarrassed. The Horned Frogs (3-0) are averaging nearly 46 ppg and have won their games by an average margin of more than 30 points. The defense has been smothering, giving up just 222.7 yards per game and has allowed just 2 TDS in its past two games.

TCU with these college football odds will battle and likely cover the spread.

But it’s not. And as such Alabama and its football squad will thoroughly dominate this game that never should have been scheduled in the first place.

Alabama’s second team could be the first team of the ACC doormat Blue Devils and for as big an endowment as the private university has, it’s hard to imagine why Duke would agree to march into this football massacre simply for the monster check it will receive.

Under dictator Saban’s iron-fisted rule and the talent recruited by former ‘Bama coach David Shula, the ‘Bama program has become the best in the country, supplanting SEC rival Florida. This team’s strength is a bruising running game a stout defense and ball control offense led by a very astute QB. It’s not flashy, it’s not even pretty most of the time, but Alabama’s brand of football is highly successful.

Against Duke this team should breeze to an easy victory and be well rested for its upcoming SEC opener versus a very good #12 ranked Arkansas next week.

Kickoff for this Saturday sports betting matchup is set for 3:35 Eastern Time and sbg global sportsbook opened with the Tide as a 24-point favorite with an over/under total at 58.

So far the Tide has rolled over San Jose State 48-3, embarrassed #18 Penn State 24-3 all without the services of Heisman Trophy winning RB, Mark Ingram, who unfortunately for the Blue Devils, will be back in uniform and ready to play on Saturday. He is one of the best backs in the country and virtually impossible to tackle one on one.

But it will be ‘Bama’s defense that likely sets the tone in this one. The Tide has given up just 229 yards a game to opponents and just 121.0 passing.

Duke’s offense is coming off an unimpressive 48-54 win over ACC rival Wake Forest last week. It will be lucky if it scores twice against Alabama.

There’s not really much to say about this NCAA football betting matchup other than ‘Bama will trounce Duke and perhaps by an even wider margin than the 24 point over/under.

See the NCAA Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com.

The Razorbacks enter this, their third game with 2 wins yet this is the first SEC matchup. They are happy to be 2-0 but feel they have a lot of room for improvement. Their QB is Mallett is 6’7” and has one of the best arms in College Football and a Heisman Candidate although he has started a little slow. The offense also has a lot of other strong players with one of the best groups of wide receivers in the SEC in Childs, Wright and Adams and this offense should be great before the 2010 season ends.

The weakness for Arkansas is the defense which last year was one of the sorriest in the SEC, as the defensive line as improved and has the depth in backups needed. In order for the Razorbacks to be great this season the defense has to show up and reduce the number of big plays that have allowed last season. Join the Action at sbg global and take advantage of their guaranteed 20% Bonus on Deposits with Free Deposits and Withdrawals.

The Bulldogs had a great opening game but they fell behind last week and could not contain South Carolina and their offense could not seem to get the ball going. This game is very important for the Dogs as they need a win here to stay in the competition for the SEC Title. The most important thing for the Bulldogs in this game is to develop their running game as that is their backbone of the offense. QB Murray a freshman has the tools and needs help from the receivers since A.J. Green is absent.

For the defense they need to step up and stop the run which they had trouble doing against South Carolina and they need to find a Run Stopper, and to win this game they have to put increased pressure on Arkansas QB Mallett. Check the lines on this important SEC match-up from Georgia!

After looking around at the NCAA Football Betting lines we notice that the Odds makers at SBGGlobal have the Bulldogs of Georgia favored at -2 ½ (-110) and the Razorbacks of Arkansas the under backs at +2 ½ (-110) with the OV/UN 53 ½ (-110) and on the Money Line Georgia is -135 and Arkansas is +115. Remember the NCAA Football Odds and Betting lines are subject to change at any given time.

When the University of Nevada Wolf Pack hosts the University of California Golden Bears this week there are two certainties: 1) the Nevada fans will pack the Reno Stadium and the college rowdies should make the place crazy, 2) there’s going to be a lot of points scored in this NCAA football betting showdown.

Heading into this West Coast matchup the Golden Bears and the Wolf Pack are averaging a combined 102 points per game. Every game these teams have played in have been major league blowouts and neither team has lost a game yet as both are 2-0 heading into this matchup.

But the unfortunate truth for one of these teams is that after this weekend their perfect record will be blemished.

Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 10:05 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Golden Bears as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 66.

This college football betting contest has the second highest over/under of the weekend and for good reason. No opponent has been able to stop these two teams yet in the four combined games they’ve played. On paper the two teams are almost identical.

Nevada is led by talented QB Colin Kaepernick who is third in the country in total yards per game with a 384 yard average (110.5 rushing yards per game). His dual threat skills make this team very dangerous and the teams 13 TDs this season are testament to the team’s abilities.

But the biggest difference between Nevada and Cal is the fact that Cal has been hanging up gaudy stats on a much higher level of competition than Nevada who’s beaten up on D1-AA Easter Washington and a hapless Colorado State team.

Not that Cal has defeated any world beaters but UC Davis and Colorado provide a bit more challenge.

Still, that hardly makes Cal a lock to win this game. Even though the Golden Bears D has put up much better numbers than Nevada’s so far this season (160 yards allowed per game vs. 352 for Nevada) the Golden Bears have had major problems trying to stop dual threat QBs in the past. Cal is also playing its first road game of the season. Look for the Golden Bears to win this sports betting matchup but it could be interesting.

The University of Nevada Wolf Pack will host the University of California Golden Bears in a WAC versus the Pac10 showdown.

Kickoff for this Friday matchup is set for 10:05 Eastern Time and sbg global opened with the Golden Bears as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 66.

Fans on the East Coast will likely be asleep before this thing finished on early Saturday morning, but for those that do stay awake to catch it; this should be a fun game to watch.

Expect a lot of points to be put on the board and don’t expect to see much defense. With an over/under approaching 70 points there’s bound to be some big plays and some explosive scoring drives.

Nevada has opened up the 2010 NCAA football betting action 2-0 with wins over Eastern Washington and Colorado State. The Wolf Pack offense is averaging a mindboggling 50 points per game and has already scored 13 TDS through 3 games. Its 592 yards per game average is among the best in the country and playing at home in Nevada’s second city, they should have plenty of fan support in the stands.

But all those gaudy numbers have come against lower tier opponents and Golden Bears will be the most difficult competition this team has seen so far. And as flashy as the Wolf Pack’s stats have been, Cal’s have been even better –and against better competition.

In season opening wins against UC Davis and Colorado the Golden Bears scored 52 against each opponent and have given up 10 points on defense all year. The offense is averaging a much more modest 436.5 yards per game but has been very efficient, in terms of scoring.

On offense both of these teams are high flying, high scoring units but defense is what separates the two. While Nevada is giving up 352 yards a game to tomato cans, Cal has held its opponents to an average of just 160 yards per game.

Cal’s defense will be the difference maker in this sports betting matchup and the Golden Bears will head into Pac10 play 3-0.

But first the team will have to vanquish the two-time defending Big East champion University of Cincinnati Bearcats (2-1). That may sound like a tall task for a perennial loser like the Wolfpack but the Bearcats have lost much of their bite since last season. Gone is former head coach Brian Kelly, the new coach at Notre Dame. Gone also is former QB Tony Pike the team’s most valuable player over the past two years.

Kickoff for this Thursday matchup is set for 7:50 Eastern Time and sbg global sportsbook opened with the Wolfpack as a 2.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 54 1/2.

One of the keys to this NCAA football betting matchup will be NC State’s ability to slow down the Bearcats’ spread offense. Cincy hasn’t been all that effective on offense this season averaging just 313.5 yards a game and just 174.5 passing. Still, QB Zach Collaros is a good player if not a dynamic one and his 128.0 passer rating and TD/INT differential of 3/0 is a testament to that.

NC State’s defense hasn’t been tested much this season as the team’s two wins were over a marshmallow Western Carolina team and a rebuilding University of Central Florida team that nearly pulled off a come from behind win (28-21). The defense blew a 28-7 lead in the fourth quarter and that kind of play will cost them dearly against an offensive minded Cincy team.

Cincy has also had a tough time in pass coverage as Colloras has been sacked 10 times in just 2 games but its unlikely NC State has the personnel to exploit this shortcoming.

When the Wolfpack has the ball they’ll be looking for Junior QB Russell Wilson to air it as he’s taken 61 pass attempts so far this season. However, the success he’s had was mostly against minnow Western Carolina and against a meatier UCF defense he was awful (10-30, 105 yards).

Cincy will win this sports betting matchup and improve to 2-1 on the year.

The University of Cincinnati Bearcats and the North State Wolfpack have two of the great mascots in college sports and these two schools will put their fighting animal mascots to the test on Thursday night when they meet in a college football betting matchup on the grid-iron.

These two institutions are well known for their prowess on the hard word but in recent years the Bearcats have also been making a name for themselves in football as this team hung in the top half of the Top 25 polls for most of last season and has produced several NFL prospects.

Kickoff for this Thursday matchup is set for 7:50 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Wolfpack as a 2.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 54.5

However, much has changed from last season to this season and the team not only lost its star QB in Tony Pike, but also the architect of its success, head coach Brian Kelly, who left to coach Notre Dame. Both of those departures have left huge holes for Cincy to fill and so far the team is still looking to get back to the high level of play it enjoyed a year ago.

The Bearcats are 1-1 after getting blown out by a decent Fresno State (14-28) team in their season opener and then beating up on Indiana State (40-7) last week. The high powered offense of last season has failed to find its footing so far this season and is averaging just 313.5 yards per game.

But that might be enough for this Big East to get past its ACC opponent.

The Wolfpack has been a bad football team for many years but after a perfect 2-0 start to the season the NC State campus is awash with optimism. It knocked off minnow Western Carolina in the season opener (48-7) and even managed to score a meaningful win over the University of Central Florida last week (28-21) for a perfect start to NCAA football betting action.

The offense has been up and down so far this season and it nearly blew a comfortable 28-7 lead last week in Orlando. Jr QB Russell Wilson had a rotten day finishing just 10-30 for 105 yards. That kind of performance against Cincy will end in a certain loss.

Look for Cincy to win this sports betting matchup on the road.

Check out the NCAA Betting lines on this match-up.

The Seminoles come into their second game of this NCAA 2010 season after defeating Samord 59-6 in Jimbo Fisher’s debut with the Seminoles. He was pleasantly surprised as the offense was quick and the defense was aggressive. Ponder, FSU’s QB only played the first half of the game and in that time he threw 4 TD passes and completed 167 yards passing.

The game with the Sooners will be the first since 2000 when the Sooners beat FSU in the Orange Bowl 13-2 for the National Championship with the Seminoles posting only one win in their five match-ups. That was when the Tensi and Biletnikoff were too much for the Sooners in a 36-19 win. Join the action at sbg global sportsbook and they offer up to 60% bonus on new and reload deposits.

On the other side the Sooners defeated the Utah State Aggies 31-24 on their season opener with RB Murray ran his best of rushing 218 yards and scoring 2 TD’s. Landry Jones who is the QB since Bradford moved on to the NFL was inconsistent and he was only 17 of 36 and he threw two TD’s in the first half and was also intercepted 2 times.

Fortunately for the Sooners have no lost at home in 31 consecutive games which takes a record, while the Utah State Aggies have not won a season opener for the last 13 years. See the action and the NCAA Football Odds as they are rapidly changing!

This game between Big 12 Oklahoma and the ACC Seminoles should prove to be very interesting and the Odds Makers at sbg have the odds presently favoring the Sooners at -9 (-110) and the Seminoles +9 (-110). Check out the NCAA Football Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com.

In the Hurricanes Opener they beat the Florida A & M Rattlers 45-0 in Sun Life Stadium. The Miami QB threw for 3 TD’s and 210 yards passing on 12 of 15 passes and a shut out which is the first since back in 2006. Florida A & M had chances to score early in the game and was in the red zone but could not get the ball into the end zone. This was a game where Miami did not make one punt, almost unreal.

Now the Canes must get ready for maybe their toughest game on their schedule this year with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Get in on the NCAA Football Action at SBGGlobal.com as they are offering up to 60% bonuses on new and reload deposits plus they have a new and great mobile wagering platform. In the Buckeyes opening game they stomped Marshall 45-7 and they are still number one in the Big Ten power rankings.

That was Head Coach Holliday’s first game also at Marshall and his tenure did not start out well at all. Marshall managed to drop the opening kickoff and then Ohio State went on to score in the first half of the game a whopping 35 points, against the Thunder Herd of Marshall. The Marshall Coach said he opened against a team with the highest caliber football players in the NCAA and hopes not to see that caliber of players the rest of the year.

This game should be an exciting game that has a lot merit for the winning team so check the NCAA Football Odds as the movement is very active already this early in the week! The Odds makers for sbg global.com have the Buckeyes favored at -10 (-110) and the Hurricanes the underdogs at +10 (-110).
