The sad truth in the NFL is that even with competition parity rampant across most the league there are still bottom feeders out there that seem to screw up the NFL gambling matchups every week. This week there are several clunkers on the schedules and one of them features the Oakland Raiders against the St Louis Rams.
These are two of the worst teams in the league that will both finish well below .500 but in head to head action things should at least be interesting as both teams will have to chance to win for a change. Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 4:05 Eastern Time and sbg sportsbook opened with the Raiders as a 3.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 37.5.
Heading into this season there were rumors that Raiders were finally getting their act together and this year was going to be the first year decades that this team was actually going to challenge for an AFC West title. I don’t know how or why these rumors started but as evidenced by the team’s Week 1 38-13 spanking at the hands of the Tennessee Titans it’s the same old circus in Oakland in 2010.
The team still has no QB, no O-line, mediocre RBs, etc, etc. And aside from a poorly assembled roster the management and coaching basically perform at the whim of owner Al Davis and we’ve seen how well that’s worked in recent years. Fortunately for the Raider Nation they’ll face a team even more devoid of talent them they are in Week 2 in St Louis.
Both teams have weak rosters but the difference is that the Rams have hope. Rookie QB Sam Bradford made his NFL debut last weekend after being selected with the first pick in the draft and did many things very well in his first NFL betting odds debut. He threw 3 INTs which rarely results in a win, but he also complete 32-55 passes for 253 yards and a TD. He looked comfortable against a good Arizona defense and should get better with more experience.
But unfortunately wins are hard to come by in this league and the more experienced Raiders team, despite all its flaws should be able to eke out a road win in this sports betting matchup.
