The National Football League hit a winner making the Season Opener with the Vikings at the Saints in New Orleans and with Favre returning it shoots the game into another atmosphere mainly being the way the playoff game last season finished and the strong fans support from both teams and with the Saints coming out on top 31-28 in overtime to say the least.
The question regarding this game is can the Saints do it again? This game tonight kicks off at 8:30 PM EDT at the Superdome in New Orleans and will be on NBC TV and for NFL Odds go to sbg global sportsnook. Looking back at last year’ s NFC Playoff game between Minnesota and New Orleans there are some statistics that make the game appear to have been won by the Vikings, at least for the stats!
Check this out: Who had the most Penalties? The Saints had 2 to 1 over the Vikings in infractions. Who had the most plays ran from scrimmage? Vikings had 82 to Saints 55 plays. Who made the most first downs? The Vikings had 31 1st downs and the Saints 15. Then we can imagine that the Vikings gained the most yards. Yes the Vikings had 475 yards gained to the Saints 257 yards.
BUT the Saints managed to win in the Turnovers by 5 to 1 and likely were the key to the game! Amazing!
Regarding the turnovers all like to put the blame on Adrian Peterson for the turnovers as he did fumble the ball two times, but he recovered both of his fumbles, then nothing lost. In reality he was probably the best player of the game with 25 attempts with 3 TD’s and 122 yards gained. Then what about the aging Favre should he take some of the blame?
He must as he was intercepted on the most important offensive drive of the game for the Vikings. Check out the NFL Odds and NFL Betting lines on this NFL Season Opener. Okay so all that’s in the past and what about tonight? Well for Minnesota Favre, Peterson and most of the Receivers’ are back and they remain with a good defense. While the Saints have most returning then we should think that the Saints will win this game? But there are so many factors to this game as to should win that you could write a book, but best we let the game play out tonight.
Having said that its time to make a prediction for tonight’s game and we think the Saints will prevail tonight by a score of 27 to 13 and therefore it appears the game will be and under since the Odds makers have the OV/UN set at 48 ½ . See the Odds at SBGGlobal.com.
