Of all the surprising performances during week of this NFL sports betting season the Seattle Seahawks dismantling of the San Francisco might have been the most impressive of them all. It’s hard to say which was more surprising: how well the Seachickens executed at times or how poorly the Niners looked, but either way Seattle sent notice to its AFC competitors that its ready to play some football in 2010.
In Week 2 this team will get to test its mettle against the Denver Broncos in a very difficult environment in the Mile High City. Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and sbg global sportsbook opened with the Redskins as a 2.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 38.5.
Even without top draft pick OT Russell Okung the ‘Hawks O-line performed adequately against a highly touted Niners interior defense. QB Matt Hasselbeck looked like a 5-years younger version of himself completing 17-23 passes for 2 TDs. The running game was disappointing with just 81 yards on the ground all day. But against one of the better defenses in the NFL its tough gauge Seattle’s overall performance.
Against a Denver D that gave up 24 points to a very limited Jasonville Jags’ offense, including 134 yards on the ground, the Seattle offense should find a much better rhythm. Denver ranked 3rd in the league last season in pass defense (186.3 yards per game) and might be able to keep the passing game in check but look for Seattle to establish the run early with Justin Forsett as the feature back.
Denver’s offense has potential with QB Kyle Orton continuing to surprise with his workman like efficiency (21-33, 295 yards 1 TD in Week 1) but the running game struggled and the receiving corps lacks big play talent.
Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global opened with the Broncos as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 40. This game is very tough to call. Neither team played to its potential last week and we’ve yet so see their full capabilities. You’ve got like the fact that the Broncos at home and generally plays well in Denver, but Hasselbeck is playing with a lot of confidence right now so take the Seahawks in the mini sport betting upset.
