The Cincinnati Bengals will play their second game of the NFL preseason betting on Sunday as they host the Denver Broncos in a game that can be seen on the NFL Network. It will be the first preseason game for Denver and the first chance for rookie quarterback Tim Tebow to make a good impression.
Cincinnati is a 3-point favorite with a total of 32.5 at SBG Global.
The Broncos will be playing their starters for about 20-25 plays on Sunday which should be most of the first quarter. Kyle Orton is the starting quarterback for Denver while Brady Quinn is the backup. Tebow is not expected to see action at quarterback until the second half. Quinn is currently the backup to Orton but Tebow could overtake him with a good NFL betting preseason. The Broncos have suffered two major injuries already that have them concerned. They will be without their best offensive lineman this season as Ryan Clady is injured and they will also be without their best defensive player in Elvis Dumervil. The spotlight will be on the players who are expected to fill in. Denver is hoping that rookies Zane Beadles and J.D. Walton can make an impact on the offensive line. The defense loses Dumervil but they did add former All-Pro lineman Jamal Willliams. The Broncos will be without running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter as both players have been dealing with injuries. Rookie wide receiver Demaryius Thomas who is expected to replace the departed Brandon Marshall is also not expected to play due to a foot injury.
The Bengals will try and make a better showing on Sunday than they did last week when they lost 16-7 to the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game. The starters for Cincinnati may not play much more than they did a week ago when quarterback Carson Palmer completed two of five passes, both to newcomer Terrell Owens. J.T. O’Sullivan and Jordan Palmer are the backup quarterbacks who will see the bulk of the playing time on Sunday.
Denver and Cincinnati have met just three times in the football betting preseason with the Broncos winning two of the three. The teams met during the regular season a year ago in Week 1 when the Broncos got lucky and won 12-7 on a late TD pass from Orton to Brandon Stokley.
