When the Arizona Cardinals fly to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Week 2 of the NFL betting odds competition it will be one those rare occasions when two teams with a bird for a mascot play against one another. And in this all bird affair, the same as you would expect if an actual cardinal and a falcon were to get into a scrap in real life, the Falcons will annihilate the Cardinals.
Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and sbg global opened with the Falcons as a 7-point favorite with an over/under total at 43.
This is a very sensible betting line and you’d have to be crazy to bet on the Cardinals in this matchup.
The Falcons are a very good team and much better than their Week 1 15-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers might indicate. On offense this is a very balanced team with a lot of weapons. QB Matt Ryan looked very sharp against a stifling Steelers D (27-44, 252 yards) despite a 4th quarter interception which more a great play by S Troy Polamalu’s than a poor play by Ryan. He’s got a terrific WR in Roddy White (13 catches for 111 yards) who should terrorize thinned out Arizona secondary.
Atlanta’s run game should also have a breakout day against Arizona after being held in check (58 yards rushing) by a great day by the Steelers D.
Expect RB Michael Turner to have a big day in this NFL gambling matchup.
Arizona has a decent defense but its offense is a big question mark. Journeyman QB Derek Anderson has proven during his stint in Cleveland that he has some ability, but if anything he’s been terribly inconsistent throughout his career and will likely follow up his 27-41, 297 yards passing day against a terrible St Louis defense with an ugly day against an underrated Falcons defense.
The Flacons pass rush can be very effective and could terrorize Anderson a highly immobile QB.
Arizona should have starting RB Beanie Wells back in the lineup but it shouldn’t matter.
Atlanta should win this sports betting showdown without breaking much of a sweat.
