This NFL betting odds matchup could be a crucial event in the battle of 2010 for the NFC South cellar. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers are two awful football teams. There is little dispute about, the only question that remains is which team is worse.
According to the bookmakers and the general consensus the Bucs take the dishonor of being the worst team on the field in this matchup even though they enter with better record, a perfect 1-0 after a miracle victory over the Cleveland Browns –one of the only teams in the league that claim, with any conviction, to be worse.
Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and sbg opened with the Panthers as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 39.5. Warning: this NFL gambling matchup will contain ugly and poor coached football and is not for the faint of heart or the football purist. Not recommended for anyone expecting to see teams execute at a high level.
The Panthers are coming a defeat that was so bad it almost comical. This is a football team with talent at few positions and could very easily finish above .500 –but not if plays like it did in its Week 1 loss to the Giants. Granted the Giants are a decent football team but the Panthers handed them the win. New starting QB Matt Moore finished the game with a QB rating of 32.6 after completing just 14 of 33 pass attempts and throwing three passes to the other team.
The only chance the Bucs have of winning this game is if Moore plays the same way again this Sunday. The Bucs have very little talent on the roster but somehow young QB Josh Freeman played well enough against a porous Cleveland defense to put up 17 points on the board and lead a game winning drive.
Freeman had one of his best games as a professional completing 17 of 28 passes for 182 yards, 2TDs and just 1 INT. Still his receiving corps is thin and the team can’t block well enough to open any holes for its backs. As poorly as the Panthers played last week, the team still has way more talent than the Bucs and should come out on top in this sports betting battle.
