So much for England winning the World Cup betting action in South Africa. There have been a handful of big name teams in the World Cup odds competition this year have been disappointing but perhaps none more disappointing than England.
If you’re an English fan at least you can give thanks for the French team. The French team is perhaps the only side that looks more foolish and incompetent thus far in the 2010 World Cup betting. At least the English have yet to suffer a mutiny and for the time being the team hasn’t yet refused to play for Coach Fabio Capello –unlike the French.
But even if the England squad went on strike it likely wouldn’t make much of a difference on the final outcome of the team’s World Cup betting performance.
As things stand now in the World Cup odds standings the English sides 2010 World Cup is all but over. It would take a soccer betting miracle for this team to make it through the Group Stage now and anyone that took England in the World Cup betting is much the poorer for it today.
England entered the tournament as the third favorite overall (9/1) -before losing captain Rio Ferdinand- behind only Spain 4/1 and Brazil 5/1. But obviously those odds have gotten much longer as the English side played the US to a thrilling 1-1 draw in their Group C opener. But as disappointing as that result was, it was hardly disastrous so long as it won its next game with soccer betting minnow Algeria, arguably the worst team in the World Cup betting competition.
But England played the Algerians to a 1-1 draw, a result that will likely prove disastrous to its World Cup betting hopes.
England can still advance but it will have to win its next game versus Slovenia, a team that has proven to be the class of group C thus far. Anything less than a victory will send the English home with nothing but disappointment. This team is loaded with talent and is more than capable of beating Slovenia, but so far this team has played awful and it must improve 200% if it’s to have any chance at all of playing in the World Cup betting competition next week.
