There are several teams still left in the World Cup betting action that seems to be on another plane. Teams like Argentina, Brazil and perhaps even Spain simply are a different skill level than the rest of the teams in the World Cup odds competition. Argentina’s forward game is a thing of beauty, the Brazilians mid-fielding is unbeatable and the Spanish all around play has been impressive.
But there’s one more team on that list of World Cup betting favorites that is even more dangerous and that is the Netherlands. The Dutch side is the only team left in the competition that has won all four of its World Cup odds matchups so far. But that in itself is not what makes this team so impressive.
The thing that separates this team from the others in this competition with perhaps the exception of Brazil is the fact that Holland is the only side left in the World Cup betting action that has actually gotten better with every game. And that steady improvement means that this team is peaking at just the right time and makes them a very dangerous opponent in the remaining World Cup betting matches.
Even though the soccer odds makers favor Brazil in the teams’ upcoming quarterfinal matchup (21/1) and they’ve given the Dutch rather long odds at 10/3 there is no reason not to think that the Clockwork Orange can’t win this game.
The Dutch side actually matches up very well with the Brazilians. Brazil’s success is based on winning balls in the midfield and turning loose the brilliant and creative players like Kaka. However, the Dutch are arguably the best possession team in the World Cup betting action and it’s all but impossible to pry the ball away from players like Wesley Snejider and his mid-field mates.
Add to that the fact that the Dutch finally have their prized striker, Arjen Robben back on the pitch and this becomes a frightening matchup even for the stout defense of Brazil. With Robben back in form this team is a much better side and arguably the best offensive side in the World Cup odds action.
Brazil has yet to face an attack like this and it just might be too overwhelming for the World Cup betting favorite.
