The Denver Nuggets will try and recover from losing Game 2 of their Western Conference NBA playoff betting series as they take on Jazz in Salt Lake City on Friday night. The Jazz stole Game 2 in Denver to even the series and now Denver must find a way to win in Salt Lake City. They have to start with slowing down All-Star point guard Deron Williams who burned them for 33 points on Monday.
Utah is a 2.5 point favorite with a total of 216.5 at SBG Global.
Williams had 33 points and 14 assists in Utah’s 114-111 victory at Pepsi Center on Monday. “We’ve got to get the ball out of his hands, make other players score,” Denver acting coach Adrian Dantley said. The Nuggets didn’t do a good job of that on Monday and it may not get any easier in Utah on Friday. “They need him to make every play,” Denver’s Chauncey Billups said. “They don’t have anyone else. He has the ball in his hands the whole game.”
The Nuggets also need to stay composed. The Jazz rattled the Nuggets in Game 2 and Denver collapsed. “‘Melo, K-Mart (Kenyon Martin), those guys are emotionally into the game, you know?” Williams said, “So … we want to try to get under their skin, keep them aggravated.” Utah will try and carry that momentum into Friday night’s game. “It was just a good game for us, a good team victory, where everybody was involved,” Williams said. “Everybody was into the game, from the first guy on down.”
