Now in an amazing turn of events the Saints who were led through their formative years by a strong armed quarterback named Archie Manning have finally made it to the Super Bowl Odds, and who’s standing in the way of the Saints first NFL Championship in New Orleans’ and a large and forgettable 43 year history as a NFL Pro Football City in the South? Of course, none other than Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
Archie made it very clear last month that he going to root for either of his sons, Peyton or Eli of the Giants should they face the Saints in the playoffs. But the atmosphere and the family involvement with New Orleans and the NFL Odds will give everyone plenty to talk about for the remaining time before the SuperBowl in Miami.
Archie Manning is a Southern gentleman and a very polite native of a little town by the name of Drew, Mississippi whom never left New Orleans after his NFL career ended with some 16 years in the NFL, 10 years with the Saints, then on to and the balance of his career with Minnesota. Archie long ago forgave the Saints organization for all the time he spent sprawled out on the turf more so than drunkard on Bourbon Street. Near the end of his career with the Saints the team plunged to 1 and 15 and the fans starting wearing paper sacks on their heads at the games and calling them self’s the “AINTS.”
The NFL New Orleans Saints may not have done any real favors for Archie Manning, but his three sons Cooper, Peyton and Eli grew up Saints fans anyway.
Colts are 5.5 point favorite at SBG Global with total of 56.5 for the Super Bowl.
