For any basketball betting fan hoping to see a hideous and embarrassing blowout in Game 1 of the Orlando Magic vs Atlanta Hawks series your prayers were answered. What passed for an NBA playoff betting matchup in the first game of this Eastern Conference semi-final matchup was an embarrassment to NBA betting fans everywhere.
With a final score of 114 to 71 there was no reason to even play the fourth quarter of this sports betting blow out other than to comply with contractual obligations to the television sponsors. And of course, for any of the sports betting fans who were betting the points spread, this NBA playoff betting had to run its course.
After an atrocious third quarter by the Hawks, in which they managed just 11 measly points, there’s got to be a lot of happy NBA betting fans who took the Magic to cover the spread. In the after math of a 43-point NBA playoff blowout there are several things that are now abundantly clear. The first is that Game 2 will be much closer game than the Game 1.
That doesn’t mean that it will be a good game in terms of NBA betting or for spectators to watch, but it’s utterly impossible for the Hawks to lose by more than 43 points in Game 2. Second, the Magic are going to win this NBA playoff betting series and it might even be a sweep. Orlando proved it’s a quality team throughout the NBA betting regular season, finishing with the second best record in the NBA (59-23).
But was even more impressive was the way it dispatched of the Charlotte Bobcats in round one of the NBA postseason odds action in four games with almost no contribution from superstar Dwight Howard. The team proved it was good enough to win without Howard and in Game 1 versus the Hawks it proved that with a contribution from the big man it can dominate. Howard finished Game 1 with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. It looks like ‘Superman’ has at long last found his playoff stride and if he duplicates those numbers on Thursday, the Magic will win comfortably.
