The 2010 NBA Playoff fans where surprised as the Celtics who without a doubt showed their best performance of the season when they outdueled the Cavaliers with wins in three Consecutive games. The final game resulted as the killer for the Cavaliers 2010 season at 94-85 and completed the series in six games.
In the beginning of the series most thought Lebron James was the greatest player in the NBA this season and the Celtics were able to put aside his dominance in these playoff matchups. The real question now for the Celtics is whether or not they are prepared to play head to head with the Magic whose season record from February to present is an outstanding 28-3 with the Magic latest winning streak is at 14 games. This Matchup starts in Orlando on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 3:30 PM ET. It will be broadcasted on ABC Television.
Not too many of the Celtic fans wanted to be reminded that their team has lost all four games they had with the Magic this season losing by 25.2 points each game. And surely the same fans are not eager to accept the fact that their Celtics were beaten in 2009 Semifinals by the Magic in that series.
One thing certain in this series with the Celtics and the Magic is that both teams appear to be free of injuries and both squads have had terrific offensive play as of late. Fans can expect the Celtics again to present the Magic with their half court strategic offense that has served them well in past series games. Both the Magic and the Celtic made 41 percent of their attempts during the games when they played one another this season. From the rebounding at the backboards the percentage was almost the same with the Magic at 42 to the Celtics 41. On the other hand the turnovers where more prevalent as the Celtics had slightly more at 17.5 to 15.
In the final analysis it’s amazing that the teams here are very evenly matched and that the games will more than likely be determined by two factors. First being who will dominate in Three pointers. The other one is if the Celtics can manage to force the Magic into playing faster than they are accustomed to, as they did in winning against the series with the Cavaliers.
