Is LeBron James really the best player in the NBA odds action or are those superhuman number he puts up in the NBA betting regular season just a mirage? So far in this year’s NBA playoff betting competition it’s been hard to tell. James is currently playing the very worst basketball of his entire NBA career at the absolute worst time possible.
As evidenced in the Cavs Game 5 loss to Boston, James and his teammates have been the inferior team in this basketball betting series so far, and unfortunately for anyone who made an online wager on the Cavs to advance to the Conference Finals betting action, Cleveland seems to get worse with each game.
NBA betting odds makers expected the Cavs to cruise through this series. After all, the Celts entered the NBA playoff betting action on the slide, losing 8 of their last 12 games and barely clinging to the #4 seed. But it’s the Cavs on the slide now after losing two straight NBA betting odds contests to Cleveland, even losing Game 5 at home in Cleveland something that happened only six times during the regular season (35-6 home record, best in the NBA odds competition).
Game 5 was not simply an NBA betting loss either, it was a complete and utter blowout, one in which the Cavs looked like a shell of their former selves. James was virtually no-existent, playing arguably the worst game in his NBA playoff betting career finishing with just 15 points (3-14 from the field), 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The Celtics didn’t even really need to guard him as he didn’t even seem to look for his shot until late in 3rd quarter and even than he settled for fade away jumpers.
By that point the game was out of hand and Boston cruised to a 120-88 victory handing the Cavs their worst NBA playoff betting loss in the franchise’s history (32 points). Boston didn’t need another monster Triple-Double from PG Rajon Rondo either. Instead the Big Three stepped up combining for 64 points and shooting over 50% from the field. Another performance like that in Game 6 at Boston and this basketball betting series will be over.
