Kobe Bryant is already the all-time leading scorer for the LA Lakers which is one of the greatest franchises in NBA betting odds history. To go down in the books as perhaps the greatest player in such a distinguished franchise’s history is quite an achievement, but Bryant is not only the greatest Lakers player ever but will be remembered as one of the all-time greats in basketball betting history when his career finally ends.
He’s won MVP award’s, he’s won scoring titles, All Star MVPs, been first-team everything in his NBA betting odds career and made zillions of dollars. But there is still a blemish on his illustrious basketball betting career to this point and it’s a loss to the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals betting action.
This, more than anything, probably motivates Bryant every time he takes the floor in an NBA betting matchup. And now, to face the team that took an NBA betting title from him two years ago must be an especially sweet tasting treat.
That loss was a difficult one for Bryant personally as he wanted to prove the entire basketball betting universe that he could win an NBA betting title by himself –without Shaq. What’s worse is that Shaq had already gone and won another NBA betting title without Kobe and he desperately wanted to validate his place among the sports betting greats.
Kobe has since won an NBA title and his place among the basketball betting greats is secure. But his is a chance to get even with the team that took shut him down in the NBA Finals betting series. Bryant didn’t play well and Paul Peirce’s stifling defense neutralized his scoring ability.
Two years later and two NBA odds seasons gone by, you can be sure Kobe hasn’t forgotten.
Players like Bryant, or Michael Jordan or Larry Bird live to compete and never forget any single slight of perceived slight on the court. Bryant has been waiting for two years to get revenge against the Celtics and especially Peirce for what the embarrassment they caused him in the ’08 NBA odds series.
On Thursday he’ll finally get his chance.
