The Orlando Magic has been Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde the NBA betting odds playoff action. This team was at one time, not all that long ago, the hottest team in basketball betting. It ran off 13 straight wins, swept the first two round of the NBA playoff betting action and was 8-0 to start the NBA odds postseason action. The team seemed unstoppable.
Yet, since beginning of the Eastern Conference Finals this team is just 1-3 over its past four NBA odds contests. And, in fact, it’s been the worst team remaining in the basketball betting action. It’s gotten just one good game this NBA playoff betting series for its superstar center Dwight Howard (32 points, 16 rebounds in Game 4) and for the most part it’s other players, including feisty PG Jameer Nelson have been asleep at the wheel.
The truth is, the first two NBA playoff betting sweeps likely had more to do with the awful nature of the basketball betting competition in the Eastern Conference than the superior play of the Magic. Still, the Magic are one of the premier teams in the NBA betting (59-23) when all their cylinders are firing –which, truthfully, hasn’t been all that often during this NBA playoff betting action.
Orlando’s Game 4 victory was a glimpse of this team’s potential in the NBA betting odds action but even then it took an OT thriller and really only about 15-20 minutes of sustained high-quality basketball to get the NBA betting victory. The Magic have yet to play a quality 48 minutes of basketball in this NBA playoff betting series and there has never been a better time the present to start.
With the NBA betting series now headed back to Orlando the Magic have a perfect chance to try and pull back from the edge of elimination and push this basketball betting series to 3-2. The aging Celtics are getting physically warn down and the longer this series goes the more it favors the Magic.
And while teams trailing 3-0 in an NBA postseason betting series are 0-93 all time in NBA betting history. With a win in Game 5 at home the Magic will be one step closer to re-writing the history books.
