Go ahead and stick a toe tag on the Miami Heat because, for all intents and purposes, this team’s NBA betting season is over. It’s simply a matter of time and a mere formality now but the Heat players will soon be on holiday and entering into what could be the biggest basketball betting offseason in franchise history.
The Boston Celtics proved beyond a doubt in Game 2 of this NBA playoff betting series that Miami has no business making to the second round of the postseason basketball betting action. In Game 1 the Heat came out and played a strong game before fading in the fourth quarter and losing what, for the most part, was a close NBA betting matchup.
Not so in Game 2. The Celtics made the Heat look amateurish as the team went on to win 109-77. And even that 29-point margin of victory could have been more as the Celts led by more than 30 points for much of the game. Granted Ray Allen was in a shooting zone and no team in the NBA gambling competition would likely have beaten Boston last night. However, you also have to remember that the Big Ticket Kevin Garnett was also out of the NBA betting lineup.
The Heat proved once again to NBA wagering opponents that if they keep superstar Dwayne Wade in check there is no one else on this basketball betting roster than can step up and hurt you.
The Heat will have a chance to even the NBA playoff betting series at home after falling to 0-2 in series at Boston, but the Heat already looks like a team that is beaten. With KG back in the lineup the Celts should win at least one of two on the road and if they don’t sweep the NBA playoff betting series in Miami, they’ll win in five back in Boston.
The Heat’s only chance is if Wade goes nuts and has back to back 40+ games on his home court. But those games have been few and far between this NBA wagering season and they’re not likely to start now against a very good defensive club like Boston.
Game 3 in Miami will likely be more of the same, Boston playing tough D, and the Heat players standing around waiting for Wade to do something great. If you’re playing the NBA odds on this series, pick Boston to win five games.
