After watching the LA Lakers annihilate the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Finals betting action it’s not difficult to envision what this team needs to do in order to wrap another NBA betting odds victory in Game 2.
The team, as a whole, played brilliantly and after a tight first quarter and a half the Lakers took control of this basketball betting battle in the second half eventually winning by a convincing 13 points (102-89).
The team’s success started with Kobe Bryant. Bryant played arguably his best game of the 2010 NBA playoff betting action in Game 1 (30 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists) and if he can keep those numbers up the Lakers will be hoisting their second consecutive NBA Finals betting title. But it wasn’t so much the numbers themselves that impressed the NBA odds experts as the way that Bryant dictated the tempo, got his teammates involved and picked his spots.
When the Lakers came out after the halftime break Kobe went for the jugular and pitched in 14 points in the 3rd quarter as the Lakers outscored the Celtics by 11 points (34 to 23) in the quarter and all but sealed the NBA betting victory.
But the Lakers NBA Finals betting win in Game 1 was just as much a defensive victory as it was an offensive win. The team played tremendous defense as a whole and was a huge reason why the Celtics offensive stats were so poor in this basketball betting matchup.
Ron Artest filled the role he brought here for in the NBA betting season to perfection and made life hell for Paul Pierce. Granted, Peirce did finish the game with 24 points and 9 rebounds but it’s difficult to imagine any player in the NBA odds competition doing a better job on him than Artest. The Lakers big men also did a fantastic job shutting down the Celts in the post and this NBA betting contest was essentially over midway through the third quarter.
Continued stellar team defense, a controlled and focus on Kobe, and a balanced offensive attack are the keys to a Game 2 win for the Lakers, and if they can simply repeat what they did in Game 1, they’ll have another NBA Finals basketball betting victory.
