The Phoenix Suns have certainly picked the right time to start playing their best basketball of the NBA betting season. After putting together an impressive regular season (54-28) the Suns have only gotten better in the NBA playoff betting action. After dispatching the #6 seed Portland Trailblazers in round one of the NBA post season wagering the Suns have picked continued their dominance in their second round series vs the San Antonio Spurs.
On Sunday, May 9th the Suns could potentially be playing to close out this NBA playoff betting series and book a spot in the 2010 Western Conference Finals, most probably against the LA Lakers. First the Suns have to win a very tough Game 3 on the road in San Antonio, but if that can be done, Phoenix will be up 3-0 in this NBA betting series and in the very rare position of sweeping the 4 time NBA betting champion Spurs on their own court.
A lot has to happen between now and then and the Suns with have to play extraordinarily well and the Spurs will have to stumble. But there remains the very distinct possibility that Sunday’s Game 4 sports betting matchup could be the last game that the San Antonio Spurs will play in the 2009-10 NBA betting season.
Still, it seems more likely that the Spurs will win at least one of the games (Game 3 or 4) in San Antonio and the NBA playoff betting series will end up back in the Valley of the Sun for at least one more game. But you can’t take anything away from this Suns which had simply been the better in the basketball betting competition thus far in the NBA playoff betting series. The Spurs have done mostly what they’ve wanted to, getting great production on both ends from their star players but still, this NBA Finals betting champion has come up short.
The Suns have simply run the Spurs under the table and are ahead in the series 2-0 because of their tremendous transition game scoring. The Spurs have been incapable of stopping the Suns from running in the first two game of this NBA playoff betting matchup and unless they can make progress in this area, Game 4 will be the final game of their NBA betting season.
