The battle has begun and so far the two best teams in basketball betting are knotted up at 1-1 as the NBA Finals betting series head to Boston for Game 3. This has been a wild series so far through the first two games and it’s not easy task trying to handicap the NBA odds in this next game. After that game it seemed like the NBA odds championship would be a Lakers blowout. But then a strange thing happened, Game 2 was played and the Lakers looked awful. The Celtics played decent basketball but hardly their best performance, yet it was enough to shut down the NBA betting champion Lakers on the road 103-94.
Both teams proved to be mortal in the first two games of this NBA Finals betting series and their weaknesses have been exposed. However, in the first games of this series neither team has played their best basketball at the same time and until that happens it’s hard to say who the better team is.
Boston has control of the NBA betting series now after stealing a game on the road and should be favored at home in the Garden in Game 3. That doesn’t mean the Celtics will win but it does mean that if you’re going to bet the NBA odds you should put your money on the Luck of the Irish.
The Lakers have more talent but are more sporadic in their play.
In order for the Lakers to win on the road they need another big performance by Kobe and will likely bet it since the Celtics really don’t have anyone that can guard him. But Bryant must do more than just score; he’s also got to get his big men involved as he did in Game 1 of this NBA betting series and distribute the ball. In game 2 the Lakers Bigs were active but there was no bench scoring and that must also change in the Lakers are going to win the NBA odds match up in Boston.
The Lakers may not win Game 3 but they win at least one game on the road in this NBA Finals betting series before it goes back to LA.
