NFL Football and the possible next NFL Hall of Fame QuarterBack that few sports fans, betting patrons and the affiated public know about the Arizona Cardinals, Kurt Warner.
His resume to date is One NFL betting title, two NFL MVP’s, three NFL Super Bowls, four NFL Pro Bowls, 32344 yards passing and 208 TDs which is not to shabby for a country boy from Burlington, Iowa a small town where he started his football career at Regis High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and then onto the University of Northern Iowa(UNI) where he was unable to start until his senior year, and he won the Gateway Conference Football player of the year.
During college Warner met his wife Brenda, whom he married in 1997 and adopted her two children. They are both born-again Christians. After college he attended tge Green Bay Packers training in 1994.
Warner was not chosen by the 1994 NFL Draft and was working in a grocery store(nicknamed the grocery store bagging quarterback) when approached by a Arena Football League Scout and was signed to a contract in 1995 by the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena
Football and played there through the 1997 nfl betting season and was named to the AFL’s All-Arena First Team in 1996 and 1997 and established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in AFL football history. The Saint Louis Rams were so impressed with him, they signed him to a contract prior to the 1998 season, and assigned to the Amsterdam Admirals of the NFL Europe.
Warner was the backup quarterback for the NFL Rams during the preseason of the 1999-2000 season, and when Trent Green was injured in preseason Warner became the starting quarterback for the NFL Rams. Warner the accurate passer along with wide recievers Isaac Bruce and Terry Holt along with runnig back Marshall Faulk all were part of the high-scoring offense thatwas nicknamed “The Greatest Show on Turf.” Warner was the symbol of the Rams’ huge turn-sround in 1999. Warner’s incredible season as one of the top seasons by a NFL quarterback in NFL Odds history where he tossed a staggering 41 touchdown passes. This same NFL Rams offense had the first in a string of 3 conseutive500 point seasons. Also Warner led the NFL Saint Louis Rams to the Super Bowl XXXIV victory over the Tennesse Titans in throwing a record 414 passing yards, including a 73 yard TD strike to Isaac Bruce at the time the game was tied with two minutes to play. This 1999 NFL season Warner was the NFL Super Bowl MVP,becoming one of the few NFL football players to win both the Leagues MVP and Super Bowl MVP in the same season. The other NFL players who have also accomplished the same are Bart Starr 1966, Terry Bradshaw 1978, Joe Montana 1989, Emmitt Smith 1993, and Steve Young in 1994.
Warner started the 2000 NFL season red hot with 300 passing yards in each the first six games, then Warner broke his hand andmissed the middle of the 2000 NFL Campaign. That season the Warner/Green team led the Rams to the highest team passing yard total of 5,492 in NFL history. Due to a poor derensive unit the Rams are elimated from the playoffs in the Wild Card Round despite one of the NFL Rams most productive offensive years ever.
