The West Coast NHL betting are as exciting as they’ve been in years. While everyone has been keeping an eye on the Red Wings Sharks series (which is just about as compelling as hockey betting gets) the NHL playoff betting matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks just might be the best series it the race for the Stanley Cup betting title.
Vancouver (49-28-5) won game one of this NHL betting odds series on the road in Chicago. It was an impressive win for a couple of reasons, not the least of which was the lopsided score: 5-1. Ryan Kesler was everywhere for the Canucks in this win and even with the team’s leading scorer and likely ’10 NHL betting MVP Henrik Sedin having an off night Vancouver was still able to dominate.
But the most impressive thing about the Canucks Game 1 win in the NHL betting competition was the way that goalie Roberto Luongo played. Luongo got off to a slow start to eh 2010 NHL Playoff betting action but closed the first round of the Stanley Cup betting competition strong and is off to a great start in round two of the NHL betting action vs the Hawks. He saved 36 of 37 shots and just missed adding another NHL playoff betting shutout to his resume.
Chicago (52-22-8) is a young team and it looked as if NHL playoff betting nerves might have got the better of this team in Game 1. The Blackhawks are a much better team than they showed in the previous match and should pose a bigger challenge in Game 2. Chicago must find a way to protect the goal better after Antti Niemi got abused in the Game 1 NHL betting competition.
It wasn’t all his fault, the defense must do a better job killing power plays and protecting him better. But still, anytime 5 pucks get in the net it’s the goalies head that the hockey betting fans are screaming for. The Hawks will get some better looks on net in this game but if Luongo is in the zone again in Game 2 of this NHL betting series, the Canucks will head back to Vancouver with a 2-0 lead.
