The Chicago Blackhawks are just 60 minutes of hockey away from claiming their first Stanley Cup betting title in decades. After winning Game 5 at home in blowout fashion this team is looking to end the 2010 Stanley Cup betting odds action tonight in Philadelphia. And all that stands in this team’s way is the #7 seed Philadelphia Flyers and their refusal to lose in this year’s NHL playoff betting action.
No team has yet won on the enemy’s ice in this Stanley Cup betting series and the Hawks are going to have to reverse that trend if they want to capture the 2010 Stanley Cup odds title in six games. And while Philadelphia is an impossible place to play the Blackhawks have a very good chance at wrapping up this NHL betting series tonight.
Game 6 was such a convincing win that you have to wonder if Chicago hasn’t finally figured out how to win this series. By dropping Dustin Byfuglien to the second line Blackhawks were able to dominate the Flyers defense throughout the course of the game and grab a quick 3-0 lead that they never relinquished.
Obviously Chicago needs to maintain its goal production to be successful in Game 6 and with the shaky Michael Lieghton in goal, the team should have planet of chances to put the puck in the net. But more importantly if they can get out to another early lead it will force the Flyers to be more aggressive on offense and open more opportunities on the counterattack for the Hawks if they’re patient.
On defense the Hawks have been very suspect, especially early and they need to be sure and protect keep Antii Niemen early in the game when the Flyers will look to strike. If they can make it through the 1st period without much damage the team’s chances of winning this Stanley Cup Finals betting series will improve greatly.
After a convincing win their last hockey betting matchup the Hawks know what they need to do and with a bit of patience and good luck the team will be drinking champagne out of Lord Stanley’s cup before the night is over.
