The Flyers are currently leading the series against the Canadiens 1-0. NHL betting fans are eager to see if the NHL odds will favor them or not.
Game two of this series remains in Philly after the Flyers scored three goals by Riemsdyk, Briere and Gagne in a short period of just over 9 minutes in the second period and going on to a 6-0 rout of the Canadiens to shock the NHL betting fans and NHL odd makers.
The Second game between the 7th and 8th seeded conference teams is Tuesday night in no other than Philadelphia, where the Flyers were amazed to have home rink advantage for the first time since early in the playoffs in 2004. And they certainly took a quick advantage of that, with somewhat foolish and uncreative play by the Canadiens. Also the
outstanding play by Leighton who had a outstanding game and stopped all 28 of the shot attempts by the Canadiens. He also has an outstanding .959 SVPCT since returning to the Flyers starting group at the Boston series game 5 thanks to the play of S.Hartnell who scored twice giving him six goals in the last 5 matches. This is the type of play that greatly affects the NHL betting lines and NHL odds.
With this series in Philly only being for two games, the Canadiens need to make a comeback as they have previously done. They should be able to do it again, at least they hope so. Unfortunately the Canadiens hurt themselves with uncalled penalties which counted for three goals for the Flyers. For the Flyers not much more could be expected other than to play as well as they did in game 1.
In this game the Flyers are favored as it is estimated that they will have 35 shots at goal compared to the estimated 27 shots at goal by the Canadiens which would give them an 8 goal advantage if that’s the case. This would certainly have a serious effect for the NBA betting fans and NBA odds wherever posted. Actually the Flyers are almost 60 percent favorites to win this second game, and it also appears that the Flyers have the advantage on the SAVE percentages.
The Odds Makers have the lines at present for the Flyers -1 ½ (+205) and the Canadiens +1 ½(-245) and the Total –Over 5 (-135) the Under 5 (+115) and the Flyers are -155 and the Canadiens are +135 on the Money Line.
