The Vancouver Canucks were riding high during the NHL betting regular season and even looked like they might have slim chance of making it all the way to the Stanley Cup betting action behind the play of its superstars. But when the NHL playoff betting action got underway reality set in and this team will have to play itself out of one game deficit in its opening round NHL playoff betting series against the LA Kings if wants to hang around for another week of hockey betting action.
The #3 Canucks put together one the most impressive NHL betting season’s in recent franchise history (49-28-5) on its way to amassing 103 points –third best in hockey betting. Along the way Henrik Sedin established himself as one of the top scorers in the NHL odds action and actually capture the scoring title (112 points) over superstars Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. Goalie Roberto Luongo also established himself as one of the top net minders in NHL betting.
But it all means little now as the team is staring out of a 1-2 hole in its opening round NHL playoff betting action against the LA Kings with the series back to LA for Game 4.
The # 6 Kings (46-27-9) snuck into the playoffs barely edging out the Predators for the #6 seed and the right to face the Canucks. But they’ve been playing like the higher seed so far in this NHL playoff betting series and look as though they’ll dash the Stanley Cup betting hopes of Vancouver if they can win Game 4.
The Canucks need a big game out of Sedin if they want to get back in this hockey betting series. He’s a MVP candidate based on his excellent play during the NHL odds regular season action but so far in the playoffs his scoring has been muted. He needs a breakout game in order to revive the Vancouver offense and get his teammates something to feed off of.
The Kings have done a terrific job shutting down Vancouver’s attack and even more impressive they’ve made Luongo look like a hack. He’s given up goal upon goal in this hockey betting series -4 goals on 16 shots, before he was pulled in Game 3- and if he doesn’t turn things around in the next NHL odds matchup the Stanley Cup hopes of the Canucks will be all but destroyed.
