The best series in the first round of the NBA Playoffs betting was not supposed to be a 1 vs. 8 matchup but Oklahoma City is not a normal eight seed. The Thunder won 50 games this season and they are proving to be a very difficult team for the Los Angeles Lakers to deal with. After winning the first two games of the series at home, the Lakers were dominated in the next two games in Oklahoma City. The momentum is now with the Thunder as the teams play Game 5 on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
The Lakers are a 6-point favorite with a total of 193.5 at SBG Global.
The Lakers are normally led by Kobe Bryant but he has not taken over games as he has in the past. Kobe is not totally healthy and he has not been the best player in this series. “It’s a tough balance for him,” the Lakers Derek Fisher said. “I think the other night he took some shots that he probably wouldn’t want to take every night. So he came out [in Game 4] and wanted to make sure everybody was involved.”
Another problem for the Lakers is that they can’t keep up with the Thunder. In Game 3 the Thunder rolled to a 110-89 win as they had a 24-2 advantage in fast break points. If the Thunder can do that again in Los Angeles they will win this series. It now seems more likely that the Thunder can pull off the upset at the Staples Center than the Lakers winning at Oklahoma City.
Kevin Durant is averaging 26.8 points per game and Russell Westbrook has been the best player in the NBA betting series. The Lakers don’t have anyone who can contain Westbrook.
The Thunder are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Thunder are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between the two teams.
The Lakers are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 Tuesday games. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.
The Over is 7-2 in Oklahoma City’s last 9 road games. The Over is 10-4 in Oklahoma City’s last 14 overall. The Under is 7-1 in the Lakers last 8 home games. The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between the two teams in Los Angeles.
