Poker Players often asked how one can tell what cards his opponent is holding. One positive way to determine that is by looking for what the poker industry calls “Poker Tells.” These tell are actions by your opposing players that can give away the value of the hand their holding. Poker Tells are most often associated with live play. It is much more difficult to pick up poker tells online, but a very observant player can find that tells. For the most part their are three coming live poker play tells and three normal online poker tells!
What are the Live Play Tells? For example looking at your chips. If you are playing a hand on the flop, don’t look at the cards as soon as they are dealt to you. But first take a look a your opponents look at the reaction to the flop. Most players will look at their chips if the flop has helped them. In this case you should be less likely to bluff or play as very marginal hand should you spot this type of a Poker Tell. Poker Tells are seen on a variety of levels of poker, therefore beginning players play their hand based on it value. They learn the odds of their hands, what is the best and then they bet it, and they will check and fold based on these same odds. This is the very basic foundation of poker and its important to learn the basics of the poker game. For sure, players can many times beat low limit games by playing well at this beginning level.
The second level of playing poker involves around adjusting you bet, check and fold decisions by trying to determine what your opponent is holding. This allows the player to increase their profit per hands by folding good hands that they would normally bet or call based on the odds alone when they think their opponents better hands or by betting or calling hands that they would normally fold if the can determine their opponents have worse hands.
