Horse racing odds aficionados are well acquainted with the Triple Crown betting competition. But for novices to the sport this is what the sports betting enthusiasts refer to as the three-race competition consisting of the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and the Belmont Stakes; three of the biggest races in horse racing betting and one of the most exciting competition in all of sports.
However, the most difficult race in this horse racing trifecta (the Preakness betting odds) is often overlooked. Everyone knows the Kentucky Derby as the Run for the Roses, the biggest horse betting event in the world. And the Blemont Stake is the place that crowns the Triple Crown betting winner –although not very often.
But the Preakness is just the race in the middle of these two online sports betting events, just the third spoke in the Triple Crown, so to speak. But what people fail to realize is that this is arguably the most difficult race of the Triple Crown betting action for any horse and jockey to win.
Jockey Calvin Borel, rider of the past two Kentucky Derby champion horses knows this all too well. Winning the Derby might be the biggest single-race win of any jockey’s career but to win the Derby and the Preakness is almost impossible. Almost all Triple Crown attempts die a sad death at the Preakness and the pressure on the rider an animal in this super horse racing odds event are tremendous.
Borel once again enters the Preakness with a chance to capture one of the exclusive achievements in sports betting. But in all likelihood he’ll lose. The distance is shorter at the Preakness than at the Derby or Belmont and that doesn’t necessarily jive with Borel’s rail-hugging strategy.
He and Super Saver will also have a target on their backs and depending on which chute they draw could have a hard time getting to rail. Other riders will be trying to take the same position and also looking to prevent Borel from getting there.
Borel knows all too well the pressures associated with the Preakness betting odds competition and he knows his horse racing odds are slim of getting to the winner circle on Saturday. Still, Super Saver has the talent to win here and Borel is more than capable as jockey. If they can somehow get over the enormous pressure of the Preakness betting, they might, just might have a shot at the 2010 Triple Crown betting odds title.
