In the past six weeks only one team has beaten the Philadelphia Flyers at home in the NHL playoff betting action and that is the daunting task that confronts the Chicago Blackhawks as they prepare for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup betting action vs. the Flyers on Friday night.
The Hawks own a slim 2-1 lead in this hockey betting odds series and the NHL odds seem to favor Philly in Game 4. Consider that no team has beaten the Flyers at home since late April and that the home team has won every single game so far in the Stanley Cup betting action.
Still, Chicago can win this game and in the process lock up the 2010 Stanley Cup betting title.
Hockey betting fans will remember that the Blackhawks very narrowly missed taking a 3-0 lead in this series and all but ending the NHL odds season in Game 3. But the Flyers gutted out a win in OT on a superb goal by Claude Giroux that he likely couldn’t duplicate again if he had to. But that’s the nature of NHL betting and fortunately for Chicago they’ve got plenty of games left to win the Stanley Cup betting title.
Despite the loss the Blackhawks’ offense got a big boost in Game 3 from Patrick Kane (1 goal, 1 assist) and the NHL playoff betting’s leading scorer, Jonathon Toews (1 assist) who had previously been shutout of the NHL betting scoring column for the first three games of the Stanley Cup betting action.
Those first points in the 2010 Stanley Cup betting action might be just be what the doctor ordered to jump start these stars in the hockey betting action. If Toews can find the net this Blackhawk team would become very dangerous.
On defense the key to a Hawks hockey betting victory will be the play of goalie Antti Niemen. Despite giving up 4 goals in Game 3 he played an awfully solid game with 28 saves, some of them quite spectacular. He should expect to be under fire all night long in Philly but if he can hold strong the Flyers aggressive game plan should result in some easy goals for the Hawks.
As demonstrated time and time again in this year’s NHL playoff betting action, it’s no easy thing to win in Philly, but Blackhawks have enough talent to take Game 4.
