As we head in to Super Bowl XLIV we at SBGGlobal.com have wondered what the NFL Future is with all the media coverage and the high salaries in a time when the United States is having some economic difficulties. In a statement by the Baltimore Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti that several NFL Owners are facing financial shortcomings that may create long term problems for the NFL and could ultimately result in a lockout. It’s possible that the NFL Odds could shut down in March of 2011 if the players union doesn’t make concession in negotiations for a new bargaining agreement. It was also stated that many of the 32 NFL teams are struggling to finish in the black.
There are Owners out there whose teams are making less money that their starting linebackers. There is a serious problem with the general profitability of the teams. It has been known that this is not a cash-cow business. However when you see teams putting up 10,000 seats to avoid blackouts, and when you have teams spending the minimum on salary caps in order not to go broke, you know there’s already a structural problem financially. The agreement signed three years ago by owners and the union was not a real good deal! It puts the NFL betting in the position of ending in a lockout opposed to a strike.
Also, there’s a good chance that 2010 will not see a salary cap in place. This does not mean teams can spend at will and also won’t guarantee a spot in any playoffs. The NFL should get to the point where they are not selling off their star players in the fourth year of a contract, as they cannot afford to sign the second contract. Basically this means owners and teams will have to dig down deep to improve their football teams. This all leads to the fact that after the Super Bowl betting the NFL may very well be facing some economic questions of their own.
However, in spite of all the economic struggling talks, the NFL Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay hopes to sign Peyton Manning to a contract extension when the season ends, a move that would make the four (4) times Most Valuable Player, the highest paid quarterback in NFL betting History.
And while speaking of economic times, as all are aware it has become more difficult to use credit cards in the gaming industry, especially MC. Therefore, SBGGlobal.com has some really great promotions for the NFL SUPERBOWL XLIV for individuals many cash deposits or via VISA, so be sure and check it out as it applies up until game time SUNDAY!
