An MMA Major Event is scheduled for this Sunday, March 21, 2010 and that being the UFC Fight between Jon Jones and Brandon Vera from “The Odeum,” from Bloomfield, Colorado. As his star continues to rise in the UFC, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones faces Brandon Vera in the main event of UFC Live. While Jones’ ultimate goal is the light heavyweight title, he tells all he is focused on the business at hand, and prepared to win. Will Jon Jones defeat Brandon Vera? A Sports poll vote gave Jones a 85.4 % yes vote, if that has any importance on the UFC Betting or the UFC Odds and lines that will be posted at SBGGlobal.com.
Vera is a big strap-up in the competition for Jones. The former heavyweight fighter has already fought three prior UFC Champions in Frank Mir, Tim Sylvia and Randy Couture. Vera was 1-2 in those fights. He wiped out an unprepared Mir, who was not really in shape to fight and los a snooze-fest to Sylvia. Vera also lost a very controversial decision to Couture this last November.
Jones who has only been fighting professionally for about two years is not concerned about his experience disadvantage. He feels he is definitely ready to fight Brandon Vera. If he wins, he could vault to contention for a chance at the light heavyweight championship. “Title shot isn’t even what I’m thinking about,” Jones said. “Brandon Vera is the title shot. I’m not looking past him. He’s in the way of my ultimate dream—the light heavyweight title.” Jones’s somewhat negative attitude could play a role in the UFC Odds and UFC Betting that will close at the ring of the bell!
On the other hand Jones says “Brandon Vera is supposed to be such a great Muay-Thai striker? I’m going to let him prove that he is.” That’s a very positive attitude. But in order for that to happen, Jones is going to have to put himself at risk for injury. In closing Jon Jones states, “I know that if I don’t try to do it to him, he’s going to try and do it to me.” That’s more like it!
