The top contenders in the 2010 World Cup odds have long been identified on online betting sites around the world for years. Spain and Brazil enter the World Cup betting action as the heavy favorites along with Argentina, and the Netherlands. And of course you can never discount the other European contenders like Germany, France and Italy, which always seem to be in the hunt for the World Cup betting title.
But this year the World Cup odds are also littered with long shots that have real shot at going deep into the soccer betting competition if not hoisting the Balon de Oro.
The US is a great dark horse team to keep your eye on if you’re looking for a team that might fly under the radar during the World Cup betting competition. The Class of Group F is certainly England, a team that enters the World Cup odds competition as a 9:1 favorite to win, but the US is clearly the second best team in pool and should advance to the elimination stage.
But once in the elimination stage things will not be easy as they would most likely run into World Cup betting stalwart Germany a team that enters the tournament as 14:1 favorites to win. But stranger things have happened and Germany, while having favorable odds is not at the top of anyone’s list to win the World Cup betting.
Still, at somewhere between 66:1 to 80:1 long shots in the World Cup odds and on the pitch, the US would not likely win a first round matchup with Germany in the elimination rounds.
However, as crazy as it might sound the US best chance to advance deep into the World Cup betting is win Group F. This can be done by defeating, or perhaps even playing to a draw, against England in the first game. If the US can win the group the team would likely play Ghana or Serbia to start the elimination phase of the World Cup betting action and if the team could somehow get into the quarterfinals as a result, anything is possible.
